Dr. Bing Liang

Intercultural Competency Workshop Instructor

Dr. Liang values diversity and has worked with people from different backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and status throughout his career. Examples of diversity programs he has developed include establishing three Wisconsin high schools in China, Portugal, and Ukraine to help create pathways for international students to study abroad, developing short-term cultural exchange programs at Verona Area International School to prepare students for the demands and responsibilities of global citizenship, and working with an investor and university to create full scholarships for low-income and high achieving students.

Dr. Liang’s doctoral dissertation research, which focused on intercultural competencies, gives him unique insights into working across cultural boundaries and building effective relationships amongst people with diverse backgrounds. With his diverse personal and professional background, this intercultural competency workshop will help support culturally appropriate community-based behavioral health services for underserved populations.
